Curiosity Collider Festival 2019

The Moose Are Life is a visual sound installation that speaks to the disappearance of the moose in Tahltan Territory. The low numbers of moose in Northern BC have been said to be from a direct result to over hunting in the area, however, the province of BC will not introduce limited entry hunting regulations. Moose counts aren’t showing much of decline, but the fact remains: Tahltan aren’t seeing the same amount of moose. The piece speaks to our colonial inheritance of Indigenous peoples, and the invasive  systems of capitalism, colonialism, and non-resident hunters in Tahltan Territory.

Curiosity Collider Art-Science Foundation is a Vancouver based non-profit organization that is committed to providing opportunities for artists whose work expresses scientific concepts and scientists who collaborate with artists. We challenge the perception and experience of science in our culture, break down the walls between art and science, and engage our growing community to bringing life to the concepts that describe our world.

A Line of Purpose - Contemporary Art Gallery 2019

In partnership with @vancouverindigenousfashionweek Mentorship Program, the Contemporary Art Gallery curated a collaborative exhibition exploring intersections of contemporary art and Indigenous fashion in the fall of 2019.

Through workshops with guest artists @saltyneen and @edziumusic, emerging artists explored techniques of combining narrative with a number of media and materials including sound, fabric and installation. The exhibition, titled 'A Line of Purpose', marks one moment in VIFW’s expansive community building, which realizes and celebrates cultural resurgence, Indigenous futurisms and collaboration through transformative designs and artworks.
